Split Pea Soup

I decided to make some split pea soup from a recipe I found on Cooks.com, on this nasty day. I also show you what it looks like out there. I am actually posting this several days after I recorded it because I had no time. Thank you for watching, hope you enjoy! Here is the recipe and nutrition information: 1 lb. Kielbasa (or polish sausage or ham) 1 lb. washed split peas 1 stalk celery 1 med. chopped onion 1 tbsp. minced parsley 1 tsp. basil 9 c. boiling water Salt and Pepper 4 chopped carrots 2 med. diced potatoes Cut sausage in half, place in kettle of boiling water with washed peas, celery, onion, parsley and basil, salt and pepper (I only add salt and pepper to individual servings - this is up to your tastes). Simmer 1 hour or until peas are tender. Add carrots and potatoes, cook another 30 minutes more or until vegetables are tender. If necessary, add more water, salt and pepper. Slice sausage and serve with soup.
