How To Prepare Arroz Con Gandules

ARROZ CON GANDULES is a special Poerto Rican Recipe that is prepared only on special occasions. The Poerto Rican festival is one such occasion when this particular food is prepared and relished as a great dish for the festive season. People from various countries and of different ages gather in this small town to watch and participate in the festival. And the best part of the whole festival is the numerous delicacies cooked in order to enjoy.
Thanksgiving is the most popular occasion when this recipe is prepared and tasted. The other dishes in the thanksgiving menu are Pavochon, Mofongo stuffing, Arroz con Gandules (rice with pigeon peas), Tostones, and Tembleque or dulce de leche.
•    10 Lb. turkey
•    Adobo
•    Paprika
•    Black pepper - 2tsp
•    4 cloves of garlic (mash in a pilón)
•    Oregano (Leaf) – 2 tsp.
•    Butter Sticks - 4
